It is with a broken heart I announce the passing of my beloved friend, co-worker, constant companion, son and all around wonderful dog Barry Siebold, he was 13.
Barry died at his home on the morning of October 12, 2017. I held him in my arms and petted him as he fell asleep and passed into doggie heaven.
He was born on Vancouver Island. We were together since I could hold him in my hands. We found so much pleasure in the simple things; walks through Train Whistle park, finding places to swim, cuddling and playing fetch, his nightly adventure to Burgoyne Station, and his favorite, eating out of his Kong, and finding uncle Ray, because he always had treats. Barry was wonderful. He gave me constant, unconditional love and a glimpse into maternal love, for which I’m so grateful.
He leaves his mom Libby, grandma Leah, uncle Pat (Jess); his special grandma (Shirley), girlfriend Autumn, all his co-workers at Sobering’s, especially aunties Rhonda, and Bonnie, his special uncles Ray and Art; aunts Pam and Tess and very special friends Alicia, Destiny and Autumn.
Barry loved his job as a greeter at Sobering Funeral Chapel.
We had a simple funeral for Barry on the day he died. It was a whirlwind really, if time had permitted I would have liked to invite so many more people, but it was just Barry’s co-workers. We buried him under the oak tree behind the funeral home.
Thank you to the staff at the Beausejour Vet Clinic, especially Dr.’s Kurtis and Stephen, and Barry’s special Nail ladies at the vet clinic. Thank you to Fr. Owen for giving Barry a wonderful funeral and the staff at Sobering’s for their care.
I miss you, big guy.
