Benedict Abdilla

It is with deep sorrow the family would like to announce the passing of Benedict (Benny) Abdilla, beloved father and grandfather.

Ben was predeceased by his mother and father and sister Adelina in Malta, also his son Leonard, grandson Ricky and granddaughter Sheryl.  He is survived by his daughters Anna Morgan (Neil), Joan Abdilla and Angela Abdilla, daughter in-law Deloris Abdilla, one brother Leonard (Colena), sisters Lena (Paul) in Australia and Ganna in Malta, grandchildren Julianna, Lacey, Michelle, Leonard Jr., Faron, Melissa, Jamie, Candace, Chris, Nicole, Stephanie and Jessica as well as numerous great grandchildren.

Dad came to Canada in October, 1951 where he worked for Ontario Hydro.  Later he moved to Manitoba and worked in the bush cutting pulp and later started with Manitoba Hydro in August of 1966 until he retired in 1988.  Dad loved planting and working in his garden and riding his quad to McArthur Falls where he met many friends.  He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.  Dad went back to Malta one last time with his sister Lena (Paul) in 2004.  He liked to go to meat draws every Saturday at Casey’s Inn.  He also went to a lot of fishing derby’s with his son in-law Neil.

The family would like to thank Dr. Zoppa and staff at Selkirk Hospital and Palliative Care Nurse Melanie, Home Care Nurses Sue and Brenda and Home Care Coordinator Nadine.

Cremation has taken place.  Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Great Falls Hall.
