1936 ~ 2014

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carmen Tetrault after a brief battle with cancer.

She leaves to mourn her beloved husband of 60 years, Martin Tetrault. Also mourning her loss is her only remaining sibling, her brother Jean Lapierre (Lillian), her son Marcel (Joanne), nephew aka “second-son” Paul Owens (Song), grand-children Sheldon (Lori) Tetrault, Denise (John) McNeil, Kara (Kelly) Jackson, DJ, Eric, and Erin, and 7 great-grandchildren.  Carmen will be deeply missed by her numerous nephews and nieces, with whom she shared many special relationships.

She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur & Germaine Lapierre, her brother Ephraim, her brother Arthur (sister-in-law Aline), sister Marie-Louise and (brothers-in-law Leo Belisle and Vincent van Buskirk) and sister-in-law Carol.

Carmen was born on March 31, 1936 in Storthoaks, Saskatchewan.   She moved to Lac du Bonnet Manitoba at the young age of 17 where she met and married Martin Tetrault on October 23, 1954.  They ran a successful trucking company “Martin Tetrault Trucking”, for over 56 years, side by side, in Thompson and in Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba.

Carmen drove school bus, volunteered for the Lac du Bonnet ambulance service, was a long time member/past president/volunteer at the Lac du Bonnet Pioneer Club, was a member of the Lac du Bonnet Legion and sat on the Lac du Bonnet Cemetery Committee for a number of years.  Carmen will miss her weekly “card games” with the GALS at the Pioneer Club!  Carmen was an active member in the Lac du Bonnet Notre Dame du Lac Catholic Church.

Thank you to all her friends & family, which are too many to name, for their visits, cards and prayers. Special thanks to the Pinawa Hospital for their care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB  R3C 2B7.

Service to be held at the Lac du Bonnet Community Centre on Monday, December 1 at 11:00 a.m.

We love you Carmen, Rest in Peace.
