It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Clarence John Lashek, age 80, on September 27 at Health Science Centre, as a result of a vehicle accident. He passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of family.
Clarence is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Jen (Ken), his son Michael (Kaarina) and grandson Walker, who had a special place in his heart and shared their love of John Deere tractors. He remained close family friends with his former wife, Gail. He is survived by his sister Florence and brother Larry (Donna) and many friends and extended family members. He was predeceased by brother-in-law Garry and parents, John and Josie.
Clarence had a long career as an electrician both running his own businesses and working at AECL in Pinawa. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and piloting the Cessna plane he rebuilt with friends. He persevered through medical setbacks and was always determined as you “can’t keep an old moose hunter down”.
The family extends sincere thanks to Beausejour Ambulance, STARS team and HSC SICU staff who provided care and support. The family will be holding a private family service.
If you wish, a donation may be made in Clarence Lashek’s memory to: Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
