It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Darryl Hazelwood of Whitesand Estates, St. Clements, MB., on September 3, 2024, at the age of 71 years.
He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 21 years, Cheryl Jorgenson; children: Reagen (Daron), and Nikki (Mark), and Russell (Samantha); grandchildren: Aryn, Abby, Nathan, Keiyra, and Ella.
Darryl is also survived by his siblings Laurie (Rollie), M'liss, Kim, John (Donna), Brenda (Roger), Bill, and Bonnie (Melody) and predeceased by his Mother Audrey Prince.
Darryl was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Certificate in Management (CIM). He later became an Operations Manager at Bradley Steel Processors Inc. and retired in 2020.
Darryl enjoyed hunting, golfing, telling stories, and building memories with his loved ones. Fishing was his greatest love and passion; fishing on many lakes, participating in many fishing tournaments, ice fishing in his self-made ice shack, and guiding in Minaki, ON. Darryl loved their home at the lake, where you would often find him rocking out to his favorite band AC/DC, playing cards and yard games, and telling stories while making smores by the fire.
The family wishes to express gratitude toward Darryl’s good friend Jody, Powerview Pine-Falls paramedics, Selkirk emergency staff, and Rheal (Tim Hortons Foundation) for the care, compassion, and assistance they provided.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Darryl's honour on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 1035 Park Ave E, Beausejour, Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Darryl Hazelwood to a charity of your choice.
