We are so heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of David Bilowus.
Dave will be incredibly missed by his two daughters Kayla and Dylann; his parents, Karen and Bob; his girlfriend, Rachael; his sister, Cindy (Jason); his loyal dog, Digady; his Oma; his four nephews; and so many cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and co-workers.
Dave had a larger-than-life personality that fit perfectly with his big smile that would light up a room.
He played hockey till he was in his teens. He last played with AA River East Marauders.
He worked at New Flyer for 20+ years and no matter what, he always made it to work. He played darts for around 20 years and his skills helped take him and his teams to Vegas nine times to tournaments.
Dave loved spending time at his Oma and Opa’s cabin at Beresford lake and all the activities that came along with it: chicken hunting, fishing, chopping wood, building fires, swimming, and so much more. But what Dave really loved about the lake was family time.
Dave was so proud of the home he and Rachael had and all the projects they completed there. More than anything, he was proud to call himself Kayla and Dylann’s dad, which was easy to see from the hundreds of photos he took whenever they were together.
You would always know when Dave was there because he would instantly give you a big bear hug or maybe even pick you up, whether you wanted him to or not. He was loud, crazy, funny, and unapologetically himself. Dave loved loud music, had a heart of gold, and could always be spotted with a big smile on his face and his signature look of shades on his head.
If you ever needed help Dave was just a phone call away - he would literally give you the shirt off his back. Whether he knew you his whole life or just a few hours, nothing made him happier than lending a hand.
We love you, Dave…and we’re going to miss you like crazy.
