It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of David Mamrocha after a brief illness at HSC with Janine by his side, on Thursday, May 24, 2018.
David was born on October 24, 1963 and is survived by his dear friend Janine; mom Betty; brother Brian; sister Cheryl (Barry); nephew and Godson Jeff; Uncle Casmir, Aunty Nellie, Aunty Adele, Uncle George and Aunty Joyce; his cousins and friends. David was predeceased by his dad Edward; his grandparents, Zigmund and Margaret Mamrocha and Mike and Annie Osadchuk; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
David was born in Beausejour, MB and grew up in Winnipeg, MB. David was employed at Intergraphics since 1991 and formed many special friendships there throughout the years. Growing up, David loved to play hockey and throughout his life he followed all sports but mainly the Seattle Seahawks and the Vancouver Canucks except that recently he followed the Winnipeg Jets with the rest of Winnipeg – Go Jets Go! If you ever had a question about anything regarding sports, David was the one to ask for the answer. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours hunting, fishing, and mushroom and berry picking. In later years, David became an avid golfer. He also took great pride in his vegetable and flower gardens.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Ave. E., Beausejour, MB. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Lowland, MB. Pallbearers will be Barry Fiebelkorn, Jeff Fiebelkorn, Terry Hunt, Brian Mamrocha, Allan Murash and Ken Viber.
David’s family also expresses special thanks to David’s dear friend Janine who provided comfort to David throughout his illness; to the management and co-workers at Intergraphics for their kindness and support; to Dave’s neighbours for their kindness and caring; and to the nurses and doctors at HSC for David’s care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of David to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 Mc Dermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 (www.cancercare.mb.ca) or to a charity of one’s choice.
