It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, Deloris Abdilla, on December 31, 2024 at her home in St. Georges, MB, at the age of 63.
She is predeceased by her parents Martha (2003) and Norman Hansen (1964); her husband Leonard (2015) and sons Ricky (1986) and Faron (2022).
Mom will be sadly missed by her children Julianna (Nathan), Lacey, Michelle (Paul) and Leonard Junior; grandchildren Autumn, Quinton, Hailey, Kingston, Logan, Connor, Ben, Isabella, Arianna, Eli, Evi, Fulton and Noah; siblings Robyn (Norman) Hodges, Faron (Lola) Hansen and Kathleen Hansen (Ryan).
Mom was born in Winnipeg, MB and lived her early years in Kelsey, MB, Grand Rapids, MB and Robson, BC. When her father passed in 1964, she, her mother and three siblings then moved to Lac du Bonnet, MB where mom spent her childhood and teenage years. Later with her first child she met her husband Leonard and stepson Ricky and settled in Great Falls, MB, Powerview, MB and finally St. Georges, MB. Over this time, their four other children came along. Sadly, they lost Ricky in 1986. They did live in Gilliam, MB for some time which she loved.
Mom loved spending time with her grandchildren watching movies, coloring, buying them things and just talking. She also enjoyed shopping, her Hallmark movies, her cats, hanging out with her coffee crew, but mostly playing cards and visiting with everyone, especially her buddy/daughter Shelly.
Mom lit up a room with her beautiful smile, wonderful laugh and charismatic personality. This was proven with the lifetime of friends’ mom made. She worked at Great Falls Foods for well over ten years, and then recently at Deals for Dollars in Lac du Bonnet alongside her close niece Heidi. She loved working with the public and made many friends and acquaintances doing this. With her children and grandchildren also working within the public, mom became part of the Chicken Chef and Lakeview families and was loved by everyone, she was everybody’s Mama.
Losing her son Faron in 2022 weighed heavy on mom’s heart, but she kept chugging along. Her health was always a constant battle, until she finally succumbed to it.
“Mom, we are grateful for the time we got to have with you. We’ll never forget your many stories and your love, but you’re in God’s hands now, an angel watching over us, free of pain, embracing the one’s you’ve missed. Goodbye, love you…forever”.
A service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Great Falls Community Hall, Great Falls, MB, with a luncheon to follow.
Mom will be laid to rest with her husband and sons at a later date.
We would like to thank family friend/cousin Matthew, the EMS services and Sobering Funeral Chapel for their efforts, kindness and support at this terrible time.
