1925 ~ 2020
Eric Alfred Carlson was best known as Fred, Grandpa and Big Grandpa.
Peacefully , surrounded by caring Pine Falls Hospital staff, Fred left this world. His journey will reunite him with loved ones aplenty.
Fred was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Loreen in January 2013. Together they raised 3 beautiful children, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; with an additional 4 great grandchildren dad had to inspire on his own.
Dad and mom farmed, produced the best honey, and learned to go camping and take in a few Blue Grass festivals in later years.
Now his chores are done. However, his traps will always be full, garden will flourish and plenty of fish on the line, with mom there to tell him how to do it.
Next to mom, his favourite were the children. They always made his eyes light up and put a smile on his face. He may have broken a few hearts if at the end of the visit some couldn’t go home with Uncle Fred as he had invited ! A few of his favourite things; kids, Swedish pancakes, beer, smokies, herring, scotch, picking blue berries, fishing, snowmobiling, the list is endless. Nature and the bush were his sanctuary. If you are out in the forest and see a majestic Moose standing there proud, put down your gun and wave him on!
Our family has many fond memories of his wit that will warm our hearts forever.
Poem taken from a needlepoint, done by Granny at age 15
Små små ord av kärlek
Ofta varje dag
Hemmet gör till himmel
Livet till behag.
Tiny tiny words of love,
Often every day,
Turns the home to heaven,
Life comfortable.
Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Sunnywood Personal Care home, and the Pine Falls Hospital.
