May 20, 1935 ~ November 2, 2019
It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Erich, surrounded by family.
He was predeceased by his wife Theresia of 49 years.
Erich is survived by his three daughters, Caroline Ransome (Scott), Susan Kuseler (Wade) and Marian Box (Bryan). He was a loving Grandpa to Allison, Calder, Shane, Megan and Tyler, who were the light of his life.
Erich was born in Szentgotthárd, Hungary in 1935. He married the love of his life Theresia in Schachendorf, Austria in 1965. Erich and Theresia moved to Winnipeg where they lived for a short time before moving to Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba where they raised their three daughters. Erich spent his life working as an underground miner. Erich also spent time as a Mine Rescue team member, a volunteer ambulance driver and was an avid fisherman. Erich was proud of the home he built on the river and worked tirelessly to keep it in excellent condition. In more recent years, he enjoyed playing cribbage with family and friends, and driving around town on his scooter.
Erich’s daughters would like to thank the wonderful staff of nurses and health care aides at the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home. We could not have asked for better care for Dad in the last five years. You have become family to us. Also, thank you to Dr. M. Bruneau who gave the best care possible.
As per Erich’s wishes, a private family service will take place.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home or the Lac du Bonnet Arena.
