1942 ~ 2012
Peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2012 after a brief illness with cancer, Ervin Ernest Hemminger passed away at the Health Science Centre.
Left to cherish is memory are his loving wife Betty; mother Laura Hemminger of Beausejour, MB; sisters Sharon (Gaylord) Stewart of St. Thomas, ON and Gloria (Roger) Klym of Beausejour, MB; brother in-law Tom Hopko of Stonewall, MB, also numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father August (1998); brother Rodney (2010), father in-law Edward Hopko (1991), mother in-law Anna Hopko (2009) and sister in-law Vivian (2008).
Ervin was a kind person, always willing to help others.
He enjoyed playing sports in his school days and continued to do so until his illness. He enjoyed attending the Winnipeg Goldeyes and Winnipeg Jets games as a spectator cheering on the local teams.
He also loved to dance and especially listen to old-time music.
Ervin worked as a journeyman Sheet Metal worker at Atomic Energy of Canada in Pinawa until his retirement in 2003.
As per Ervin’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A gathering of family and close friends will take place at a later date.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to the staff of the Health Science Centre, CancerCare, Beausejour Hospital and Pinawa Hospital.
Also many thanks to everyone for their love and support during Ervin’s illness. Special thanks to Linda and Elliot.
