It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of Eugene Yusishen, age 87, on April 20, 2021. Geno was born on December 24, 1933 to Jack and Rose Yusishen.
He grew up in Stead, Manitoba and was educated in Thalberg where he received his grade 12 education. Geno is predeceased by his wife Roselyn (2008) and brothers Lawrence and Edward. He has 2 sisters Lillian and Betty, 2 children Bryan (Barb) and Tim (Diane), 7 grandchildren: Ryan, Jenna (Richard), Krystina (Justin), Taylor, Kiefer, Ricky, Carson, and 4 great grandchildren: Grace, Corbin, Jordyn, Sydney.
After 31 years with the Post Office at the age of 57, he and Rose spent the winter months of the next 20 years at their Texas home. He loved farming, fishing, playing cards but most of all being a practical joker. He will be missed by all. Thanks to the staff at Beausejour Hospital and to all of you that has touched his life.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour. In abiding with COVID-19 restrictions, you may attend the service by parking at Sobering Funeral Chapel, remaining in your vehicles and tuning your radio to 98.1 FM. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 28 from 11:00-3:00 at the chapel as well; please call (204) 266-1673 between the hours of 9:00 and 5:00 to arrange a time. You will be screened and given instructions.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may donate to either Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Cemetery Fund, c/o Box 6, Grp 240, RR 2, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0 or Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1379 Kenaston Blvd., Winnipeg, MB R3P 2T5 in Geno’s honour.
