Eva Caroline Greschuk

March 28, 1939 — March 28, 2020

1939 ~ 2020

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Eva Caroline Greschuk (nee Kupiak) on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, with her family by her side. She will be sadly missed by her children Wanda Wenzoski (Al), David Greschuk, Louise Charney, Barbara Froese (Will), Crystal Truba (Morley), Sheri Hadaller(Keith); daughter-in-law Grace Greschuk; her 15 grandchildren, Ryan Greschuk (Elaina & great-granddaughter Sofia), Jason Greschuk, Thomas & Kyle Wenzoski (Katelynne), Lindsay (Gabe Fontaine), Lauren (Jason David), Graham & Nicholas Greschuk, Ray & Jordan Charney, Alexandra & Kendra Froese, Braylon Truba, & Jessie & Tyler Hadaller. She is also survived by her sister Gladys Herchak (Rod), brother-in-law, Teddy Greschuk, sisters-in-law, Jean Jensen & Angela Bodnarchuk as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & their extended families.

She was predeceased by her husband Adolph (Ed) in 2004, son Edward in 2005, parents Mike & Mary Kupiak (nee Gerylo), in-laws, Peter & Stella Greschuk, Fran Greschuk, Ed Jensen, Henry Bodnarchuk & Arlene Greschuk.

Mom was born in Selkirk on June 25, 1939 & grew up on the farm in Walkleyburg. She married Dad on October 8, 1955 & settled in Tyndall, where they built their one and only home. She worked as a bookkeeper & parts runner in their trucking business & raised their 7 children. She drove a school bus for Agassiz School Division & became ‘Mom’ to many more kids, particularly the group from Lac du Bonnet who she bussed from Beausejour to Selkirk Comp. She also worked for Ludwick’s Catering for many years.

Mom spent her spare time gardening, berry picking, canning, sewing, knitting, & crafting. She enjoyed making perogies, meatballs & cabbage rolls for the holidays & looked forward to the house overflowing with her children & grandchildren.

We grew up watching mom handle every obstacle life put in her way with strength & courage. She was the most selfless person who would do anything for anyone, it didn’t matter who. Everyone was a part of her family and she’d welcome anyone into her home. It didn’t matter what time of day or night you stopped by or came home, Mom would always ask if you wanted something to eat.

Mom somehow had an uncanny sense to know when one of us kids was up to something we shouldn’t have been. She often busted us when we thought we were in the clear. She had a great sense of humor and we shared so many laughs in later years when we’d reminisce about those times.

She did a great job raising us and we learned from the best. Her kind heart and compassion will always be remembered by us as well as her many friends. She will be forever in our hearts and be greatly missed by all who knew her.

We would like to thank the staff of East-Gate Lodge for the care & compassion they showed towards Mom. For that, we will always be grateful.

Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial will be held at a future time.

In lieu of flowers, if family & friends so desire, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada, East-Gate Lodge, Beausejour, MB. or a charity of your choice.
