85 years
After a lengthy battle with cancer, it is with heavy hearts we had to let you go.
She didn’t want to leave us, but it was not meant to be. God seen you getting weak and tired and in the loving arms of his angels, whispered, come with me.
Mom was predeceased by her loving husband, Alvin; brothers Bill and Don; her parents Adolf and Elizabeth and many loved ones.
She leaves behind her daughter Debbie (Wayne Orvis); grandsons Rory and Brad (Kristin); great grandchildren Kayla, Campbell, Desiree, Ethan and Dawson. Also survived by her sister Bernice; brother Dave both of B.C.; brother Garry in Tyndall; brother Jim (Edith) in Carman; sister Carol in Winnipeg; sister-in-law Carol (Don) in Winnipeg; cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Mom loved her family and friends, country living, gardening, cooking and baking. Doing all kinds of puzzles, taking walks and enjoying nature and helping others.
She worked for Motor Coach Industries, Old Dutch as a cook and lastly Diet Tech Cook at Luther Home.
She was born and raised in Whitemouth, moved to Winnipeg for work, met and married Alvin in 1962. Once retired, moved to Seven Sisters, MB then to Lac du Bonnet. After dad’s passing, she moved back to Winnipeg to be close to her family.
As per mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no formal funeral service will be held.
Those wishing, may make a donation, in Evelyn’s memory, to CancerCare or a charity of your choice.
Those we Love
Don’t go away
They walk beside us
every day
Unseen, Unheard
But always near
So Loved, So Missed
So very dear
And Never Forgotten
Till we meet again
