It is with great sadness that we announce Everett Dobbin has passed away peacefully at the Pinawa Hospital on Sunday, July 10, 2011.
“Grumpa” is lovingly remembered by Ruth, his wife of 69 years, his daughter Maureen (Garth), son Bruce, grandchildren Laura (Kevin), Robert (Brenda), Jude, and great grandchildren Emma, Alison and Haley, and many faithful dogs.
Everett was born near Treherne, Manitoba on March 1, 1915 and moved to Winnipeg with his family in his early teens. After finishing high school he went to work for Building Products in Winnipeg. He served in the RCAF during World War II. After the war Everett worked again for Building Products until 1963 when he and Ruth moved to Pinawa, Manitoba where he worked as a Power Engineer for Atomic Energy of Canada until he retired in 1980, at the age of 65.
Everett’s happiest memories were of times in the outdoors fishing with family and friends at Nutimik Lake and enjoying life and golf in the wilderness of Pinawa.
His wife and family wish to extend their thanks to the Nurses, staff and Doctors at the Pinawa Hospital for their wonderful help and care during his illness.
In accordance with Everett’s wishes a family celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
