June 18, 1926 ~ July 26, 2017
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Frank on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at the age of 91.
Frank will be dearly missed by his family; Joe (Lily), Helen, Stephanie, Edward (Kathy) and numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his parents Michael and Caroline; sisters Sophie, Mary, Gladys; and brother Stanley.
Frank was born in Medika, Manitoba and lived his life on his farm along the Birch River. He enjoyed farming, hunting, trapping and working on his sawmill. He took great pride in all that he did and all that he built. He loved to compete in sports and games or test you with a good riddle. One of his favourite past times was shooting pool with his friends.
Frank was a supportive brother to all his siblings, always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it was building something for them or sharing vegetables from his garden. He was a fun-loving uncle to his nieces and nephews, always making them feel welcome and spoiling them with a treat.
Everyone has their own special memory of Frank, whether it’s listening to him play his harmonica, enjoying his wonderful storytelling, partaking in a competitive board or card game or just spending time talking with him. Frank was always a very kind-hearted gentleman, who was very attentive to his mother and siblings throughout his whole life, and he treated his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. He loved to visit with everyone and will forever be remembered for his great sense of humour.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff for their kindness and help over the years.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour, MB. Viewing is one hour prior to the service. Graveside service to follow at 1:30 p.m. at Birch River Cemetery, Medika, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Birch River Cemetery c/o Gail Wasylnuk, Box 11, Group 16, Hadashville, MB R0E 0X0.
“Rest in peace dear Frank. You will forever be in our hearts.”
