Frieda Leonida Hastman (Nee Linke)

1931 ~ 2012

Peacefully on Friday evening October 12, 2012, at the age of 81, Frieda passed away at East Gate Lodge in Beausejour, MB.

Frieda leaves behind her four children, Larry, Alvin (Barb), Laverne (Ed Janzen) and Fred (Marianne); her four grandchildren, Chris (Lisa), Heather (Makoto Fukuda), Shannon (Derek Fehr) and Trevor; three great grandchildren, Alex and Chloe Hastman and Kaede Fukuda.  Frieda is also survived by three sisters (Alma, Evelyn and Manda) and two brothers (Art and Ed), numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  Frieda was predeceased by her parents (Reinhold and Hilda), her brother Rudy and sister in-law Ida.

Family and friends will forever remember Frieda for her amazing cooking and generosity.  Her happiest times were those spent with her family.  Family gatherings will not be the same without her cabbage rolls, perogies, mushroom turnovers and cheese cake.

The family wishes to thank the staff at East Gate Loge (Shamrock Unit) for the excellent care they provided.

Funeral Service took place on Saturday, October 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 403 1^st Street North, Beausejour with viewing one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
