Peacefully, surrounded by her family, Gail “Mom” Farrow passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011. She fought a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Gail grew up in Winnipeg as an Army Brat, but spent many summer and weekends on the farm. She worked at Skills Unlimited and then at Arc Ind. in Selkirk. Gail devoted her life to her family, both two legged and four, as well as working with people with disabilities. Later Gail started her own journey with her miniature horses and provided animal assisted therapy. Alongside her husband Don, they built their dream home known as the Round-2-It Ranch. It was here that Gail thrived, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and animals. She was a friend to humans and animals alike, the more destitute they appeared, the more she wanted them. She was a wonderful sister, mother, wife and friend. Everyone should be so lucky.
Gail was predeceased by her parents George and Margaret dePaiva. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Don; son Adam (Michelle) Farrow; daughter Kelly (Jonathon) Babisky; grandchildren Kodi, Nicholas and Brady; sister Ruth (Ludy) Jarco, Phyllis (Gerald) Unger and brother Alex, as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
As per Gail’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, July 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Riding for the Disabled, 145 Pacific Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3B 2Z6 or to CancerCare Manitoba.
A special thank you to Dr. Matter at SDGH for all her support and guidance.
Kodi, Nicholas and Brady would like to send a special “Tiff” and “Mwah” to their special Mamma in heaven.
