1939 ~ 2012
Garnet George Weedmark, age 73, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2012 at East Gate Lodge, Beausejour, Manitoba.
Garnet was born February 21, 1939 at Vita, and grew up in Dominion City, Manitoba. He was a caring individual who provided his strengths to his family, friends, and neighbors.
He moved to Beausejour as a journeyman lineman with MTS, where he met Adele Lachowski, a telephone operator. They were married May 5, 1962.
Garnet is predeceased by his parents Frederick (Ted), and Marjorie (Peggy); and his brothers: Raymond (Joe), Fred, and Allan.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years Adele; his two children: Margurite Thiessen (Reg) and Garnet Jr.; granddaughter Kelsey; brothers: William, Donald, Frank (Adelene), Richard (Diana); sisters: Rosemary Wnuk (Bill), Bernice McKnight, Cynthia Jamieson (Leonard); sisters-in-law: Diane Bangert (Albert), Elaine Smith (Wally), Eleanor Weedmark, Joanne Wolanski; close cousin Stewart Pearse (Manyvonne), as well as his many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the care provided by staff and doctors at East Gate Lodge, as well as nephew Carl Bangert (Leanne) of Beausejour.
Prayer Service was held Thursday, December 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Ave. E., Beausejour. Funeral Service was held Friday, December 14 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Beausejour at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East Gate Lodge, Beausejour and Area Food Bank, or the Royal Canadian Legion.
