It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gary L. McLellan. He will be missed by his loving wife and soul mate Dawn, all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Mike, Jacob and Kyla McLellan, Reagan (Craig), Joshua and Mackenzie Brown, Tracey (Kirk), Scott (Val) and Robert (Leandra), Chloe and Kolton Miller, Brian (Lisa), Martin and Emily Firth.
He also leaves to mourn his Sisters Diana Jeffrey, Lori Morgan, Shirley Toews, Linda Lepine and Theresa Sousa and his much loved nieces Kari Jeffrey-Csuk and Kori Jeffrey-Quinn.
Gary was born in Winnipeg to Leonard Kallwies and Isobel Orr. Gary lived part of his life in Winnipeg before returning to his roots in Anola around 1986. He spent a few short years working for the CNR and the Winnipeg Post office before starting his career with the Winnipeg Fire Department, retiring as Captain of over 30 years of service.
Gary cherished his family and was loved in return. Many thanks to all our friends who became like family, he loved you all. I am sure you can all attest to his wicked sense of humour.
He had many interests over the years, golfing, fishing, spending time at the cottage and tinkering on anything with wheels and a motor. His 39 Ford still stands and will remain safe with family.
We would like to thank the staff at the Selkirk Regional Hospital Emergency Room for the kindness and sensitivity shown to the family.
A celebration of life will be held June 14, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. at Sobering Funeral Chapel 1035 Park Avenue, Beausejour MB. Thank you to everyone for their support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Winnipeg Firefighter Burn Fund or the Salvation Army.
