Gerald (Jerry) C. Antymis

April 16, 1942 — July 7, 2021

April 16, 1942 ~ July 7, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear Husband, Father, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Gerald (Jerry) Antymis on July 7, 2021 at the age of 79 at his home in Beausejour.  Dad was born April 16, 1942 in Beausejour to Pearl and Steve Antymis.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, best friend and sparring partner Alexis (Lex) of 57 years; children Susan (Darrell), Dean (Christine), Lee (Terry); grandchildren Jason (Leanna), Matthew, Rachel (Troy), Clayton, Mackenzie, Alexis; great grandchildren Hannah, Sarah; brothers Eugene (Jennifer), Neil (Leslie); sister Theresa; mother-in-law Marge Bush; in-laws Brian (Carol), Edie, Cathy (Robert), Jackie (Wayne) and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, sister Sharyn Witzke; father-in-law Alec Bush; brothers-in-law Dwight Bush and Peter Kozak.

Dad was very proud of his roots growing up on the farm in Thalberg, working very hard at a young age doing whatever he could do to help on the farm.  He attended Thalberg North School where he made a lifetime of friends.  It was here he played Eagles Fastball, became an avid hunter and trapper, self-taught to play guitar which he played everyday of his life.

Dad seemed to do it all; teacher, drove fuel truck for Coop, managed Coop in Maryfield, managed Beausejour Lumber, owned and operated Delgar Construction.  He curled, golfed, enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, loved old Country music, shopped and shopped, did we mention he loved to shop…it was on sale!  It was very rare when Dad made fudge but it was the best fudge ever made!

The Holy Ghost Ukrainian Church was center to his faith, working with the Church Board and parish members was so important to Jerry to keep our church operating.  He served with the Knights of Columbus for over 52 years, the last 15 as a Fourth Degree Knight.  He had integrity, was a perfectionist and could fix anything.

He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and loved nothing more than to be together.

Active Pallbearers are Dean Antymis, Terry Loeb, Jason Otto, Matthew Otto and Troy Hlady. Honourary Pallbearers are Clayton Antymis and Darrell Heckert.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dad’s memory can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Lung Association.
