Hazel (Alice) Oriel Meade (nee Clarke)

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mom, granny, sister, aunt and friend, Alice Meade who passed away peacefully at the Pinawa Hospital on October 2, 2024, at the age of 80 with her loving family by her side. 

Alice is survived by her husband, of 62 years, Arthur Meade, and by her three children, Crystal (Larry), Grant (Michelle) and Billy (Sommer) and her five grandchildren Cole (Sarah), Sydney (Mitchell), Noah (Emmaus), Logan, and Ridley (Nadia), and one great-grandchild Kaylum. She is also survived by nine sisters and three brothers and many nieces and nephews. 

Alice was born on February 5, 1944, in Manigotagan, MB. She married Arthur Meade on July 14, 1962, and in 1967, they settled in Lac du Bonnet to raise their family. Alice was very active in ladies and mixed curling for many years. She also loved to bowl and meet her friends for Monday night Bingo. 

Alice and Arthur spent many years with their family at the cabin in Manigotagan where they loved to fish and pick blueberries. Her family was her top priority. Granny, as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, loved to bake and cook for all of them. In the last few years, Granny and Papa looked forward to their visits from Kaylum, their only great grandson and did all kinds of activities together. They talked about him with so much joy. 

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Bruneau and Dr. Papetti along with their staff at the Lac du Bonnet Medical Centre and the Cancer Care unit at Pinawa Hospital for their excellent care of our mom.
