Irene Carlson (Rach)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Irene on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at the age of 92.
 
Family was at the center of Irene's world. She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Roy Carlson (1967) and Arthur Rach (1995), as well as her son Patrick, son in-law Bernie Ouimet, and siblings Dolores, Claudette, and Patrick. Irene leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be carried on by her surviving family members:
    Daughter Yvonne (Jim) and her daughter Ruby Anne (Paul) along with their children Sage  and Jada.
    Daughter Freda and her children Vanessa (Eddie) and her kids Katrina and Kane; Shaun (Rachael) and his daughters Chasten and Devyn; and daughter Holly.
    Son Roy (Colette) and their children Nicholas (Melissa) with their kids Claire and Wyatt; and Jeremy (Melanie) with their son Sebastien.
    Daughter Rita (George) and their children Amanda along with her children Summer, Dawson, and Amelia; and son Tomas
    Son Patrick's (who is predeceased) children Alisha (Chris) and their daughter Taylor; and Brenden (Danielle).
In addition to her immediate family, Irene is also survived by siblings Julius (Joe), Berthelette (Elsie), Ralph (Wanda), & Wilfred, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will always hold fond memories of her close to their hearts.
 
Throughout her life, Irene found joy in the simple things - she had passion for sewing and quilting, often creating beautiful quilts from blue jeans. Her baking skills were renowned among those who had the privilege of tasting her creations; from memory, she could whip up a delicious white cake or the best sugar cookies one could imagine. Even into her golden years, Irene continued to bake bread for her loved ones to enjoy.  Mom's pride and joy were her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart.
 
The family would like to thank mom's good friends Grace and Helmer who would always visit and check on mom, as well as the many other caring residents and friends of the Winnipeg River Manor.  A special thank you to mom's family member and caregiver Dr. Jessie Lamoreux for his care and compassion given to mom.
 
Funeral liturgy will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Notre Dame du Laus Roman Catholic Church located at 38 Laura Street in Powerview-Pine Falls, MB. 
 
If one so desires, donations may be made in mom's memory to a charity of your choice.
 
Irene Carlson brought light and love into the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for her family will live on as a testament to the beautiful soul she was. Rest in peace, dear Irene - your memory will forever be a blessing to us all.
