James Herbert Arthur

Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, James Herbert Arthur passed away at Pinawa Hospital on June 11, 2024 at the age of 70.

James is survived by his children Holly (Rob) and Karen (Dustin); grandchildren Rachelle (Alex), Victoria (Erik), Peyton, Camdyn, Christine, Naleina (John), Maelle, Chase and Maddox; great-grandchildren Ava and RJ; Brothers Bruce (Debra) and Edwin; Sisters Trudy (Cliff) and Patricia.  

He is predeceased by his parents Herbert and Rosa, his adopted parents Axel and Hilda Lindgren and sisters Noel and Jessica.

James was born on March 23, 1954 in Dominion City, MB.  When James was young, he was adopted and moved to his forever home in Lac du Bonnet.  After high school James got a job with the Department of Highways where he worked his way up to being a compliance officer.  When the kids decided to join the Air Cadet Program, James was not far behind, starting with the Parent Committee, then moving on to become a CIC Officer where he retired at the rank of Captain.  He spent an amazing 35 years with the Cadet unit.

In his spare time James enjoyed spending time in Arizona for the winters, driving his scooter around town and being a part of the Chicken Chef coffee crew.  James spent his last days surrounded by family and friends.

As per James’ wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the 249 Royal Air Cadet Squadron in Beausejour.
