James Donald (Don) Richardson

November 30, 1940 — May 16, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Don on May 16, 2024.

Don was born and raised in Pine Falls.  He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Mary (nee Samorodny) Richardson, brothers Jake and Pete and sisters, Lil, Betty, Ann, Pat, and Joan and siblings-in-law Ray, Keith, Leo, Mac, Tom, Horace and Marg.  He is survived by siblings Katie, Joyce, Brian, Fran and Diane, sisters-in-law Sharon and Annick, brothers-in-law Al and Winston and many nieces and nephews.

Don adopted a nomadic lifestyle in his early years and his pipefitting/steamfitting career took him on a journey through Ontario, Alberta and BC.  He was an avid reader, news junkie, sports enthusiast, outdoors guy and a damn good cook!  However, his strongest passion was sky diving and his stories were legendary.

In his latter years he came full circle and made Pine Falls his home once again.  His nieces and nephews are forever grateful for these years as we got to know Uncle Don, the raconteur and adventurist.  He also reconnected with old friends and comrades at the Royal Canadian Legion, where the flag was at half mast in his honour.

As per Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service.

Don, you were much loved.
