John N. Bouchie

With great sadness, our family announces the passing of John Napoleon Bouchie. John passed away on November 1, 2024, at HSC Hospital in Winnipeg with his devoted loving wife Maxine at his side. John was born May 15, 1949, in Terrace Bay, Ontario. John moved to Winnipeg at a very young age and attended Red River C.C. and obtained his electrical license. He worked all over Manitoba at his trade. John took great pride in his work. He earned a reputation as a hard-working, honest, and most of all kind man.

 " Papa", John enjoyed watching nature and often took vacations and road trips, where he and Maxine would sightsee and spend time enjoying their time together. One of his favorite adventures was Nashville and the Grand Ol’ Opry. John had a great love of music; he could be found at his computer with his headphones on ignoring the rest of the world. He could be found strumming his guitar along to the music. John was always willing to lend a hand to his family and often was a fixer of many things.

John loved to laugh and could often be found enjoying a good story or sharing his special brand of expressive tales with his coffee gents, The Table of Knowledge. He was always on the lookout for the perfect hamburger steak.

John was predeceased by his parents Napoleon and Emma Bouchie; his sisters Joan, Pat, and Bonnie, and his brother Dennis. 

He will be greatly missed by his devoted and loving wife Maxine who held his hand for 45 years; his sons Eldon (Theresa) and Dale (Marilyn); grandchildren Scott (Andraya), Brett (Katrina), Cole (Destiny), and Lexus (Jesse); great grandchildren Myla and Nova, Jaxton. John is also survived by his brother Rick (Sue), his sister Sheila (Jerry), and numerous nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by Edith Neufeld, sister-in-law, and close friend Terry Papineau.

The family would like to express our great appreciation to the staff of the HSC hospital for the kindness and gentle care of John and to Sobering Funeral Chapel for their support.

As per John's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, in John's memory donations can be sent to the HSC hospital palliative care unit.
