1959 ~ 2015
After his battle with cancer, John passed away quietly and peacefully on the evening of January 6, 2015, surrounded by his family.
He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Linda; children: Crystal (Mark), Catlin (Marie), and D.J.; grandchildren: Alex, Amy Lynn, Chayton, Azariah, and Nixon; brother Bob (Lindsay); and his many friends.
John enjoyed being a part of the community of Tyndall and devoted much of his time doing work to benefit the community. John was a proud and active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3386 for almost 14 years; he held the position of Vice President for six years, and then President for the last two years.
John was a fighter. He fought for his family, his community, his work, and his passions. He was always willing to give a helping hand, and never hesitated to tell a joke or pull a prank.
John had a passion for sports, and was a great collector of sports memorabilia. He was particularly fond of the New England Patriots and the New York Islanders.
We would like to express our gratitude to the staff of Beausejour District Hospital for the excellent and compassionate care that John received during his stay.
A private family gathering will be held to honour John’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3386, Box 11, Tyndall, MB R0E 2B0.
