After a five-year battle with illness, Ken passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
Born in Winnipeg on Christmas Eve, 1950, Ken made his grand entrance 2 1/2 months early. He would later discover that his birthday celebrations would forever be intertwined with Christmas.
In 1957, the Bilkoski family, including sisters Carole and Lynda, moved to Morden, Manitoba. There, his parents purchased and operated the Arlington Hotel until the early 1960s. After a brief return to Winnipeg, they bought the Beausejour Motel in 1964, where Ken would reside for the next five decades.
Over the course of his life, Ken established a successful local plumbing business called Bilkoski Plumbing and Heating. Later in his career, he became a skilled Pipe Fitter with Atomic Energy of Canada. Ken retired from AECL in October 2020.
Ken’s career as Plumber/pipefitter would become his legacy. His son is proudly following in his footsteps.
Ken is survived by his wife, Leah, his soulmate of 25 years, his children Tony (Tracy) and Kendel, his stepchildren Stephanie (Chris) and Neil (Lindsay), his grandchildren Eve, Kacie, Owen, Troy and Fiona, his sisters Carole and Lynda (Taras), and his loving parents-in-law, Don and Ena Adams. Also left to mourn are many nieces, nephews and close friends. Ken is predeceased by his parents, Helen and Anthony, his brother, Robert and brothers-in-law Bernie and Einar.
