(nee Lunn)
Vicki was born April 8, 1952 in St. Thomas, ON. She lived in the Wallacetown area till the mid-60’s then moved to Paynes Mills, ON and lived there until 1976 when she married Ron. Together with Ron, they moved to Thompson, MB to start their life.
While in Ontario, Vicki was involved in 4H Club, Junior Farmers and played baseball as a pitcher with her sister and stepsisters; a great team. Vicki attended Paynes Mills School in the early years, then 2 years at Arthur Voadon Highschool. She worked at jobs in the area.
I met Vicki in the late 60’s and dated till 1976 when were married and left for Thompson, MB. Then on to Gillam, MB for 22 years raising two great kids, Dwayne and Shannon. Vicki worked with me in the small engine business and was employed with a local housekeep co. for Hydro.
In 1998 we moved to Lac du Bonnet and settled there. Vicki worked in the restaurant business in Lac du Bonnet until 2015 when she retired.
Vicki loved to travel. In 2012 we went to Alaska, 2015 to Newfoundland with Gary and Dawn Clinton, 2017 to Calgary Stampede again with Gary and Dawn, 2018 to Vancouver Island with sister Darlean and in 2019 our last trip to the Caribbean and Panama Canal Boat Cruise.
Vicki was a great seamstress and loved to craft and do artwork. She took meticulous care of her home and her houseplants and even taught me to cook. She taught me well as I have had to put it to great use. Most of all she loved being grandma to Grady and Declan. She loved to play with them in the yard, driving them around in the tractor and wagon.
Vicki was diagnosed with dementia in early 2017 and it progressed rapidly since that time to the present. This dreadful disease has taken the most beautiful person one could ever know; a loving mother, grandmother, sister and loving and caring wife of 46 years.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Ron of 46 years, son Dwayne, daughter Shannon, grandkids Grady and Declan, sister Darlean and brother Lonnie both in Ontario, sisters in-laws, and many nieces and nephews in Ontario.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the management and great staff that care for Vicki at Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home; as well as to Dr. Bruneau and Lisa Kroeker, Nurse Practitioner, that helped her during these times.
Cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or click here https:alzheimer.mb.ca/you-can-help/donate/
