Lillian / Memere to her grandchildren and great grandchildren passed from this life to the next on October 28th, 2024.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Richard (PeggyLynn), and Donat and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her sisters, Alice, Maureen and Linda and her brothers, Lionel and Ronnie.
She was predeceased by daughter Melanie, parents Mary and Harvey Chevrefils, brothers Donat, Albert, Lawrence, Silvio, and Allan.
Lillian was born on December 7th, 1930 in Pine Falls, Manitoba. She was the eldest in the family and became the "second mom" to her siblings working on their family farm. On October 22, 1955 she married Henry Malo whom she knew from a tender age. They started their life together in Powerview and then soon moved to Hinton where they raised their three children. They later returned to Powerview to live on the family's homestead and help Lillian's Mom.
Lillian (Mom) was devoted to the Virgin Mary and prayed her rosary faithfully. She loved her family and was always there to provide help and support especially to Melanie and her children who enjoyed living with their Mamere and Papere from time to time. Along side her husband they lead many prayer groups throughout the years and became mighty prayer warriors. Her constant and persistent prayers brought her sons back into the faith. This faithful couple witnessed many miracles and answered prayers and would attest to God's loving faithfulness.
Fr. Theodosius tells a story about when him (a former biker) and several companions came to Hinton looking for a place to spend the night. Henry was working nights so Lillian welcomed them into her home sharing her bed with a woman she had never met before and providing them a wonderful breakfast before they journeyed on. When Fr.Theodosius conveys his story he concludes that he is sure Lillian Malo is a saint.
Your family and friends will miss you Mom / Memere, but our hearts are filled with the hope of you in the heavenly presence of Our Beloved Lord. Thank you for your godly example and your wonderful contagious laugh.
