Lily Borkowsky

May 23, 1920 ~ March 16, 2011

Peacefully, in her 90th year, Lilly passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Beausejour District Hospital.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her loving husband of 66 years, Edward; daughters Dianna Fosty, Denice (Lloyd) Peacock; grandchildren Joshua (Denise) Fosty, Erin (Ryan) Keefe, Dana (Scott) Jordan and Brittany Peacock (Tim), great grandchildren Devin, Danielle, Ashley, Riley and Claire. She is survived by her brothers Roy (Eleanor), Gus and Carl Fiebelkorn; sisters Christine (Alfred) Borkowsky, Gladys (Ed) Neurenberg, Agnes (Victor) Worona and Merceda (Ron) Smith. She was predeceased by her parents William and Natalie, sisters in-law May and Rosalie and son in-law Richard.

Lilly loved gardening, canning and pickling the fresh fruits and vegetables, baking, sewing, crocheting, knitting and playing board games. She took pride in her gardens, enjoyed family get-togethers and socializing with neighbors and friends. Choir music was an important part of her life and she valued her faith and her church family. She loved all holiday celebrations but most of all enjoyed decorating the house at Christmas and preparing the special Christmas feast. She treasured spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Dr. Garth Campbell and all the staff at the Beausejour District Hospital for their loving and compassionate care in her final days. Also the Home Care and Palliative Care Teams for their supportive care during her last six months.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 21 at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour with viewing one hour prior to the service. Pastor Mark Koenker will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Beausejour Town Cemetery. Viewing will take place on Sunday, March 20 from 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. also at the chapel. Pallbearers are Joshua Fosty, Ryan Keefe, Scott Jordan, Alan Neurenberg, Cameron Neurenberg and Tim Smyrski.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Greenwald Lutheran Church or Beausejour Hospital T.V. Fund.
