Louis Joseph Denis Nicholas

March 7, 1945 — September 5, 2024

 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Louis Nicholas who passed away at his home in Beausejour MB on Friday, September 5, 2024, at the age of 79. 

Louis is predeceased by his parents Eugene and Lucienne Nicolas, his sisters Lorraine (Rod) Matheson, Jeaninne (Emile) Carriere, Alice Doroshuk and his brother Omer. 

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 23 years, Donna Fortney. He also leaves behind his son Rejean (Barb) and daughter Michelle (Jay) Metcalf and their families.

He is also survived by his brother Florent (Carole); his sisters Louise (Norman) Broesky and Eveline (Roger) Vien; brother-in-law Lenard Doroshuk and sister-in-law Stella Nicolas. 

He was born in Steinbach MB on March 7, 1945 and grew up in La Broquerie MB. In his adult life, he lived in La Broquerie, Edmonton AB, St. Claude, Winnipeg and Beausejour MB. 

His work included farming and he was a tow truck owner and operator for many years. 

Louis loved spending time working on his farm. He loved gardening and always shared his harvest. He had a love of black trucks, tractors, horses and his many cats. Most of all, Louis loved visiting with family and friends. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
