It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Grandma, Memere Yo and Great Grandma, sister and aunt, but most importantly friend, to all whose lives she touched.

She left us peacefully while sleeping, with her daughter by her side, into the loving arms of the Lord.

Mom was predeceased by her adoring husband, John Victor, son Keith and grandsons, Chad and Matthew.  She spent her last few weeks reminding everyone that she would soon be reunited with her “Boys” and how she could not wait to see them.  She was also predeceased by her parents, Archie and Caroline Lambert, baby brother Allen, brother Dennis, sister Marguerite, in-laws Jack, Iris and Bruce, as well as numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, and very precious nephews and nieces.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Viki (Henry), David (Nicole), Bruce (Tara), Bryan, Ian, 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, all of whom she referred to as The Loves of Her Life!  Also left to remember her are her sisters Jeannette (Jack), Helen (Frank) Gail and brothers Maurice (Nancy), Francois, sisters-in-law Phyllis, Joy, Gayle (Loch), Susan (Wayne), plus many loving nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Mom lived most of her life in Transcona where she completed her education, and was chosen as the East End Community Clubs Carnival Queen.  Upon graduation that summer, she attended Teachers College where she achieved her teaching permit.  She immediately started teaching school in a one room schoolhouse outside of Eriksdale, Manitoba.  It was there that she met her future husband, Vic Forsyth.  She always says that it was love at first sight.

One of Mom’s greatest passions was sewing.  She sewed all of our clothing, spending many evenings working tirelessly at her sewing machine, into the wee hours of the night. Mom was always working on some sort of craft, decoupage, crocheting, knitting and her favorite of course was quilting.  Quilts made with so much love were given as gifts to family and friends, many of which won her top honors at the various quilting shows.

Mom had the special gift of being able to teach and we all benefited from her knowledge.  She was an active member in her community: she belonged to the C.W.L., she volunteered many hours at St. Amant, she helped with the reading programs at various elementary schools, she sewed costumes for our various school plays, taught students to quilt, and she volunteered at the Food Bank and Mrs. Lucci’s.

Mom had a very strong faith and a great love for all things musical, which she instilled in all her children.  Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, teaching them to sew, play games, burn cookies, and frog hunt.

How lucky we were to have our lives enriched with so much pure Love and Laughter!

The family wishes to thank the staff at Pinawa Hospital for their care, kindness, and compassion… Such an incredible group of people.

Cremation has taken place and Mom will be laid to rest at a future date.
