Mom was predeceased by her husband John, her parents Stephen and Katherine Kiernicki, son Gerald, sons in-law Aldo Panciera and Stan Barta, grandson Andrew, her brothers John and Mike, and sisters Anne Grycki and Sophia Kawaler.
Mom is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Mary Ann Panciera, Christine Barta, David, Karen (Bill), James (Michele), Mark (Susan), daughter in-law Donna, foster son Walter Petik, 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving are Mom’s sisters Ollie Bauer, Antoinette Kolodiejchuk, Helen Charrier, and many nieces and nephews.
Mom was born September 15, 1929 and lived in Pine Ridge, MB. She married her husband, John, in 1946 and lived in Oakbank, MB., before settling in Hazelridge, MB. While raising 7 children, she was involved in farm life and later as a nurse’s aide at East Gate Lodge in Beausejour.
Her deep faith carried her through many life challenges and losses. Hard work, generosity, and her deep conviction of family were qualities that she distinctly modelled.
Our family would like to thank Mom’s sisters for their incessant devotion her care, comfort, and entertainment during her later years.
Our family would especially like to express our gratitude and thank all the amazing health care staff at Kin Place for their compassion, care, kindness, and support given to our Mom.
Due to Covid restrictions a closed funeral mass will be held at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Cook’s Creek on Friday, June 25. Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom’s memory may be made to Our Lady of Hope in Anola or to St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Cook’s Creek.
