Mason Bannerman

April 9, 1976 to October 8, 2010

On October 8, 2010, Mason, our beloved Daddy, son and brother passed away at his home while in the loving arms of his family, after a 17 year courageous battle with Crohn’s.

Mason was born April 9, 1976. Mason grew up in East Transcona where he enjoyed playing hockey and soccer. Our family time was spent camping, water-skiing, fishing, snowmobiling and quadding. Mason cherished these happy memories by doing them all with his beloved son Hayden, or as Mason called him “my little piggy”. Despite his illness, he was able to love and nurture his son. He fought so valiantly to stay for him. Mason was a very gentle, kind and loving man. Family was everything to him. When we moved to St. Andrews, he loved nothing better than to don his cowboy hat and shit-kickers, crank up country tunes in the garage and work at fixing almost anything. He was gifted at that. Many happy days were spent there with Hayden and Dad.
Waiting with open arms to greet Mason on his eternal journey are his Gee Gee Peter Rzyhak, Granny Edith Bannerman, Aunty Diane Bannerman, dog Meggie and Grandfather Don Bannerman.

Left to grieve his passing are his cherished son Hayden (8 years old), parents Gail and Allan, sisters Traci (Mike) Klimchuk and Erin (Trevor) and Trent Wowk, Gramma Frances Rzyhak as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, especially Murray and Momma and Poppa Kowerko.
Our special thanks to Selkirk Home Care, Sandra, Sandy and staff as well as to Dr. Paul Sawchuk, who did so much to restore Mason’s faith in our faulted medical system. Thanks also to Doug Sobering and staff at Sobering Funeral Chapel.

At his request, no formal service will be held. Burial has taken place in Birch River Cemetery.

Till we meet again our beloved Mason.
