Mavis Remple

1940 ~ 2017

Suddenly, on Good Friday, April 14, 2017 Mavis Remple, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away at the East Gate Personal Care Home in Beausejour.  She had just moved from her home to the care home the previous week. The last seven years were very difficult for her due to her declining health and resulting dementia.  Her strength and courage during her life-time were an inspiration to all who knew her.

She had many passions in life with the greatest being animals and gardening.  She loved her family- her grandchildren and great grandchildren could always bring a smile and a laugh even during her most difficult times.  Her working years mainly consisted of working with her Mom and Dad at Green Bay Cabins, a resort they owned at Caddy Lake in the Whiteshell and later at Manitoba Housing Authority until she retired.  A year or so before retirement, she and Lorne hit the road with their trailer and tried a few campsites with the last one being the Brokenhead Campground.  This is when they fell in love with Beausejour and ended up buying a house here.  She was able to enjoy her home for many years looking after her gardens, enjoying her bird watching, visits from her family and the small town country life.

She was born Mavis Louise Bessie Grieves in Ochre River, Manitoba on February 28, 1940.  She was predeceased by her father Charles Grieves, her mother Alma Grieves, and her brother Wayne Grieves.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 47 years Lorne Remple, her sons Brian Allen, Rick Allen and Darren Remple, her daughter Elaine Allen Sheppit and husband Greg, her grandchildren Michael Sheppit, Lisa Sheppit Kocis and husband Dean, Carlee Allen, Nikki Allen , Morgan Remple Brennan and her husband Darren, her great-grandchildren Parker, Kennedy and Marley Kocis and Wyatt Brennan, her sisters Carol Desjarlais and Gail Hunt and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 18th at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour, with viewing one hour prior.
