1930 ~ 2012

It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Norman Alexander Pachkowsky on November 19, 2012 in Pine Falls at the age of 82. Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, dad made his final journey home. He is survived by Helen, his loving wife of 62 years, his children Sheila, Ken, Ron (Corrine), JoAnne (Mike), Amy (Calvin), Roberta (Randy), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister Sandy (Richard), brother Julius (Joyce) and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son Gerry, brother Lawrence, sisters Jenny and Sharon and son-in-law Barry.

Dad worked for over 40 years at the paper mill in Pine Falls until his retirement in 1988 and was well known in the community. A dedicated parishioner of the Notre Dame du Laus Church, an outstanding member of the Knights of Columbus and the Royal Canadian Legion. The joyful tunes played on his guitar and his presence on the river fishing with family and friends were cherished by many.

Our family would like to give special thanks to the Lord our God for allowing us the wonderful gift of sharing so many beautiful years with an extraordinary man. We would also like the thank Father Jim and the many caregivers including the staff at Pine Falls Hospital, North Eastman Palliative Care, his homecare nurses and providers, CancerCare Manitoba and most of all the many family and friends who helped him through his journeys with cancer.

Funeral service took place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24 at Notre Dame du Laus Parish in Powerview.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba; Chalice, 445 Sackville Drive, Suite 1, Lower Sackville, NS B4C 2S1, Canada; or Siloam Mission, 300
