August 20, 1963 – November 1, 2021
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our partner, father, and grandpa, Norman Lavoie.
He leaves behind his beloved partner Gail; daughters Katrina (Cameron), Kandace (Mark), and Kayla (Mathew); grandsons Tavis, Austin, Bennett, Maxton and Logan; granddaughter Madison; along with Gail’s children Brittany (Curtis) and Brad; and grandchildren Taylor, Maci and Jayden and sister Penny.
He was predeceased by his father Edmond Lavoie and mother Margaret Lavoie; brother Roy Lavoie; and nephew Kevin Lavoie.
From a young age of 5, Dad’s passion for life was very evident, with him starting his tinkering around and disassembling engines. He bought a dirt bike with the money he earned, which led to the love of his life–racing snowmobiles and becoming a legend in Eagle River. The last 10 years, Dad’s dream came true; being head mechanic of the Hart Roofing race team, where he got to be with his 2 sons that he never had, Craig Obie and Glen Hart.
Dad will be remembered for his knowledge of mechanics. Some would have called him a wizard with how he could diagnose an engine by listening to it over phone. Having 3 daughters gave Dad a lot of unpaid jobs with vehicle repairs and kept him on his toes. In Dad’s free time he enjoyed the outdoors with Gail where they would go hunting and fishing.
‘MacGyver’ had many inventions that kept him up all night where he would reward himself with a late night pizza.
Your hard work here is done, we wish for you to rest in peace. You will be loved forever and never forgotten.
The family really appreciates the kind words from all friends. We would like to thank the Beausejour first responders and medical staff that provided their assistance and support, and special nurse Scotty for providing extra care and kindness.
We interrupt the first day of rifle season to honour our big hunter Norm Lavoie for a funeral service that will be held at Sobering Funeral Chapel on Monday, November 8th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
