October 2, 1925 – April 29, 2021
Olga Oberick, aged 95 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at East Gate Lodge in Beausejour.
Though our hearts are heavy, we can rejoice that Our Lord has taken her to rejoin her beloved Frank, whom she missed dearly all these years. We are blessed for the precious years we had in Olga’s company; her care for others, her laughter, her stories her patience and her infinite devotion. Olga leaves us to return to her husband Frank, with whom she walked hand in hand for 60 years.
While she was left to carry on by herself for just shy of seventeen years, Olga maintained a deep sense of gratitude and continued to live a very full life with what was always most important to her: her family, her Church (Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church), her friends, the Garson Community Club and working in her yard with her flowers. When it was time to move on to Stony Plains and then East Gate, Olga brought her larger than life personality and gregarious nature to help blaze a trail for her next stage in life. Always quick to make new friends, Olga touched many lives, and we are the better for having known her. Olga’s greatest pride was her family and she took tremendous joy in the accomplishments of her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Olga cherished her many outings with her god-daughter and niece, Linda and looked forward to their time together. When we see flowers, we will see her smile. When we eat perogies, we will remember her delicate but strong hands always working to ensure we were full. When we admire her needlework, we will remember the infinite love, dedication and time she gave to us.
Olga leaves behind her four children, Ron (Linda), Patricia (Robert), Rick (Doreen) and Wayne (Angel); as well as her grandchildren, Daryl (Caroline), Colleen (A.J.), Shaena (Jayson), Chantel (Ryan), Shawn, Cory (Karleigh), Kyle, Matthew (Cassandra) and Sarah (Thomas); and great-grandchildren, Trent, Brennan, Michayla, Cameron, Avery, Ava and Madyx; as well as sisters-in-law, Bette, Sally and Eleanor; and numerous nieces and nephews. Olga was predeceased by her husband Frank; her mother Frances; her father Michael; her brothers, William and Michael; and great-grandson, Dylan. “Sometimes people come into your life for a moment, a day, or a lifetime. It matters not the time they spent with you, but how they impacted your life in that time.” – Unknown. Olga was someone who made an impact.
Olga was born in Melrose, MB and spent most of her life in Garson. Though Olga will be tremendously missed, she leaves us with many wonderful memories and stories. We delight in the thought of her dancing with Frank in heaven, home together at last.
The family would like to thank Dr. Partyka and the staff at Beausejour Hospital, Stony Plains and East Gate Lodge for their loving care of Olga.
