Paul Murash passed away peacefully on October 2, 2019 at St. Boniface Hospital after 88 fun-filled, adventurous and productive years. He joins his wife of 34 years, Florence Murash, and leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 21 years Dorine (McQuarrie) Murash and her extensive family. Paul’s daughter Kathy and son-in-law Réal Ross of Anola, his daughter Melanie and son-in-law Mark Vezey and grandsons Jag and Finn of the Bay of Islands, New Zealand will miss him greatly.
Paul came from a farming background in Lowland, and grew up with 4 sisters and 4 brothers. He lived a rich and happy life that included his work as a meat cutter at Canada Packers and his own business, Paul’s Custom Cutting at his home in Anola. He was a keen hunter and fisherman, small scale farmer, green thumb gardener, multi-talented and generous with his time. Deeply dedicated to his church and community Paul was a Sir Brother with the Knights of Columbus and served at church for many years.
He will be remembered by many for his unbeatable garlic sausage, smoked goldeye, and keen sense of humour. With Dorine, Paul enjoyed the best years of retirement including building a new house in Anola, international travel, square and round dancing, and finally, new friends in their residence at Dugald Estates.
Divine liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, October 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church in Beausejour.
