Pauline Soroka (Nee Kekish)

1920 ~ 2016

It is with deep sadness that the family of Pauline Soroka announce her passing on July 13, 2016, at Pinawa Hospital.  Our mother had just celebrated her 96^th birthday on June 25^th.  What a lovely long life she had.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Elsie and her husband Doug Gyles of Winnipeg, daughter Amy Lagsdine of Winnipeg, and daughter in-law Ursula Soroka of Kingston, Ontario.

Her 7 Grandchildren will cherish memories of their Grannie.  They are Shannon (Ira), Christine (Tim), Darren, Trevor (Leigh Anne), Kirk (Pat), Harold and Tanya (Sean).  Grannie also had 6 great grandchildren.

Mom was predeceased by our father Steve Soroka in 1982 and her son Larry in 2006.

Also left to cherish her memory are her sister Carrie Tokar and brother Stanley (Diane) Kekish all of Lac du Bonnet, as well as several nieces and nephews in the Soroka and Kekish families.

Our mother’s wishes were that no formal funeral service be held.  A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Our most sincere thank you to the people that took such good care of our mother.  She resided at the personal care home in Lac du Bonnet and she loved living there.  Thank you to the wonderful staff at the personal care home, Dr. Bruneau and Pinawa Hospital professionals for your kindness during her last days and over the years.
