1942 ~ 2014
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ralph Frederick Savoy on Friday, July 11th at Beausejour Hospital at the age of 72 years.
Ralph was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on May 6th, 1942 and lived there until he joined the RCAF, which took him out west to Manitoba. There he met and married his wife Christine. They moved back and forth several times between New Brunswick and Manitoba having three boys and finally settling in Manitoba in 1978 to spend the rest of his years. He was a certified machinist and mechanic putting his skills to good use for Canada Post and in later years as the owner of Faloma Beach Marina. After retiring from the marina he relocated to Whitemouth, Manitoba where he spent the rest of his days.
Ralph will be sadly missed by his wife Christine of 49 years, his sons, Stuart (Janine), Scott (Sytske), and Sandy (Kathleen), his grandchildren, Deric, Alex, Rachel, Monica, Kyla. His brother Joe Savoy (Dorothy), Sister in Law Jennifer Sinclair (Jim), and his nieces and nephew David, Lucy, Janet, Heather, Karen, and his beloved dog Major.
Ralph is predeceased by his parents Frank and Lucy.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Beausejour Hospital for their support and particularly Dr. Van Rensburg whose care and smile meant so much to us, also Bonnie and Scott for all their kindness and compassion. A special thank you to Roy for all his care and support.
A service will be held at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 20 with a private interment for the family at a later date.
Ralph was a caring and supportive man who always wanted to help others, as such he would want in lieu of flowers any donations to be made to any of the following: The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, the Lions Foundation, The Beausejour Hospital Television Fund or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
