It’s with heavy hearts that we announce that Reginald (Reg) Rigby Templeton, of Gull Lake, Manitoba, made his final journey from this world on April 21, 2024 at the age of 65.
Reg was born on October 18, 1958, in Winnipeg, MB to parents Andrew and Annie Templeton. Reg met Louise in October of 1989 and never looked back. They built their life together and eventually settled in Gull Lake.
Reg lived and worked hard; and loved his family just as hard. He was a devoted husband, father and “Papa” to his granddaughters. In his younger years, Reg worked at Pritchard Engineering, where through the back door he did valve jobs on many of his buddies Harleys. Reg later worked for Beaver Truck Centre until 2022. Reg loved his work and his work family.
Anyone who knew Reg knew that he loved motorcycles and had many over the years, from his purple minibike at age 10 to his street glide. He rode his Harley at every opportunity and enjoyed many bike trips, Corpus Christi, Arizona, Sturgis, the Florida Keys and all the many winding roads nearer to home. Reg must have always had Jackson Brown’s “Running on Empty” running through his head because he would always run out of gas: may your tank always be full on high octane. In addition to his motorcycle, Reg also enjoyed his off-road vehicles, quad trips with good friends or just taking his granddaughters for rides around the lake.
Reg could have any room in hysterics with his stories, impeccably timed wit, swift one liners and infectious laugh. If you know, you know…
He was our voice of reason and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He impacted so many lives, his memory, advice, guidance and love is etched in our minds and will be cherished forever.
Reg was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Annie, brothers-in-law Joe, Lynn and Wally, great nephew Mitchell, and father and mother-in-law Louis and Lucille. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Louise, daughter Julie, son Luc (Brooke), granddaughters Carleigh, Lucie and Anastasia, brother Ben (Donna), sisters Adrienne, Joyce, Margaret (Ron), Marie and Roxanne, brother-in-law Rene (Karen), “Brother and Sister in arms” Brad and Vicky, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family, friends and colleagues.
“Ride on Captain!”
