It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our brother, brother-in-law and uncle, Richard Arthur Arsenault on March 9, 2025 at his home in Lac du Bonnet at the age of 74 years old.
Rick will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten by his brother Cameron (Karen); his sister Holly (Don); his niece Kristin (Guillermo); his nephews Brendan (Tasha), Steven (Joanna) and Jason who meant the world to him.
Rick was a devoted and generous uncle who deeply loved his five great nephews, Bryson, Reid, Rylen, Mason and Hudson. He never tired of showing pictures of them or talking about them. They were his greatest joy.
Rick was predeceased by his parents Art and Adeline and his beloved dog, Keesha.
Rick was born in Selkirk and lived all his life in Lac du Bonnet. Rick was proud to be from Lac du Bonnet and supported the community in every way possible, it didn’t matter what the cost it was worth it to shop locally. Rick was well known throughout the area and the trucking industry; he spent many hours with his “coffee buddies” at the local coffee shop.
Rick and Cam began their trucking career on August 9, 1974 hauling from Dumbarton Mines to Werner Lake, Ontario, and with the guidance and help of our fellow truckers continued on to have 50 successful years in business together.
Rick fought a long hard battle with cancer, and he never gave up! He was a warrior, living his best life and an inspiration to so many people.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
As per Rick’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Even though we are apart, your spirit lives with us, forever in our hearts.
Your smile, your kindness and generosity will never fade.
Rest in peace, dear brother!
