After a week of suffering from a massive stroke, Rick has passed away. We are all so relieved that he is on the Stairway to Heaven.
His life was a story of music, more music, love of family and a tight group of friends. He also spent a lot of time alone tinkering with electronics while listening to music.
Rick was the youngest of four brothers; Ron, Jimmy (deceased) and Claude (Lisa). Born to Janette and Emile (deceased). He grew up in Ste. Anne, Manitoba where he spent the majority of his life. Eventually moving to Beausejour, Manitoba to be close to his immediate family. Rick helped raise two step children Aaron and Stephanie through till adulthood. Unselfishly giving of his time, wisdom and support. They were loved. His love for family shone brightest by his deep devotion to his nieces, Jasmine (Jeremy) and Chelsea. They were a piece of his heart and soul. He loved, guided and protected them throughout their life up until his passing. Jeremy was unwavering in helping Rick with anything and everything, always there for him in times of need. This created a love and respect for each other that they savoured. Also, he found a new special love in his great nephew Mack (10 months) whom always made him shine warmly from the inside out. His partner Michele (Mikey) of four years was his true love. For Rick life began when he met her. A sweet, loving and caring person with a beautiful family the same. Their kindness and support did not go unnoticed. Throughout his life he forged a special relationship with his cousin Mona. Born out of a love of music and matters of the heart. They were unbreakable. As was his relationship with his brothers. All who were apprentice plumbers, one by one, working under their dad on calls. This included Jimmy whose passing formed an unpenetrable band of brotherhood. Lisa was the sister he never had. The drives, going to the legion and most of all trips to the laundromat….where “the laundry talks” were born. Rick was also the brother Lisa never had. She will cherish that time with him forever. His close knit group of friends were his mainstay throughout his life. Forming a band, playing and listening to music endlessly.
His Les Paul guitar will be resting now, as will Rick.
Come and join us in celebrating Rick’s life on Saturday, February 10th from 1pm to 4pm at the Beausejour Room, 320 Veterans Lane, beside the Sun Gro complex, Beausejour, Manitoba. Come and go or stay as you please.
Heartfelt gratitude to the Specialist, Doctors, Nurses and Nurses Aids at HSC, GH 7 for their dedicated care and compassion.

Feel our love in spirit and light.
From all of us to you.
