The Zueff Family is saddened to announce that suddenly and unexpectedly during the afternoon of March 2, 2024, in St Boniface, Winnipeg, Manitoba Sigrid Louise Zueff passed away. At the time of her passing Sigrid was out with her son (Stefan) and granddaughter (Sofia) enjoying a family activity. Sigrid’s last words to her granddaughter were “you only live once”.
Sigrid is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Donald, her children Stefan (Dianna), Eric (Shannon), and daughter Heather (Craig), her grandchildren Alexander (Madison), Sofia, Michael, Anatolie, Alissa, Abigayle, Austen, and her great grandchildren, Lily and Alianna. Sigrid is predeceased by her parents Archie and Louvisa McNicholl, and brother Dr Martin McNicoll (Kevin).
Sigrid diligently served several communities as a paramedic, in various roles, from 1985 until her retirement from field work in 2022. At the time of her passing she was still actively working as an educator for various International Trauma Life Support, Red Cross, and Heart and Stroke programs. Sigrid was an outdoor enthusiast, a photographer, an artist, a Scouts Canada youth leader, a St John Ambulance volunteer youth leader, and a volunteer for the Haystack Productions. Through Haystack productions she passed along her love for the arts to her grandson Alex and granddaughter Sofia who both acted in various roles for several youth productions spanning 20 years and continuing to this day.
Sigrid was the backbone of our family. She lived a fulfilling life, as a mother she passed along her love for the outdoors, her love of the arts, and love of life to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. As a paramedic and educator, she saved countless lives spanning her long-distinguished career.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Beau-Head Seniors Center 645 Park Avenue, Beausejour, Manitoba from noon to 1700 hours (5pm).
