Stacey Helen Silinski

April 5, 1986 — May 31, 2022

April 5, 1986 ~ May 31, 2022

Stacey would like to say after 36 years her work here is done.  After a long and painful decision, that didn’t come lightly, her battle here is done.  This decision comes with a huge relief of pain and a reunion with loved ones gone before.

Her next chapter will take her to a wonderful place where she will be picking sea shells on the beach, gardening, skiing, mushroom picking, camping, swimming and watching over her cat, Baby.

She has succumbed to her illness of nearly 20 years.  She is now pain free; physically and mentally.  Please accept her being gone but not forgotten.

Stacey is now protecting from heaven her greatest treasure, her fur baby, “Baby”.  She has given her the greatest comfort and joy in many of Stacey’s battle with her health.  Her parents Carl and Linda, her fur sister Leah, uncles and aunts Ed and Marlene, Pat and Pete, Shirley, Terry and Dennis and many dear cousins and friends.

Stacey was met in heaven by her Grandma and Grandpa, her Gege and Baba, her Uncle Brian and her fur brothers, Cody and Pepper.

Unconditional friendships and unknowingly support from cousin’s Sandy and Tony Gertenbuhler, Dale Blanchfield and Mo Samuel and Jayson Smerechynski.  Also to a very good friend Melissa Friesen.  Even though they haven’t known each other for that long, Melissa brought Stacey much happiness in her last days.  Without everyone’s love and support and all the comforting conversations, she may have gone sooner.  Thank you so much for being there for her and anyone else who touched Stacey over the years.  It was greatly appreciated by her and us.

Thanks for the excellent care Stacey received during her unfortunate stays in the Beausejour and Selkirk Hospitals.  To the doctors that tried to help her, Dr. Van Rensburg, Dr. Garg, Dr. Heluwa and Dr. Duerksen.  Also to the MB Nutrition program (Mark), Calea and Dale who all made it possible for Stacey to be home more with us.  And to MHW’s Heather Howie and Shelley Senkow.  Thanks also goes to Lindsay for all the support and kindness she gave Stacey and being with her in her final hours.

A big thank you to Sandy, Pat and Shirley for helping us through this difficult time.  You all have made the loss that much bearable.  And a big thank you to Sobering Funeral Home for the care they gave Stacey and also to us.

We are following Stacey’s wishes and there will be no funeral.  Some of her ashes will be spread at Rushing River at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Stacey’s memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB  R3T 0R3 or Clearspring Animal Hospital, 38010 Rd. 35 East, Blumenort, MB  R0A 0C1.

We want to let Stacey know that she did a great job being our daughter and wish her a safe journey.  We will remember her smile, her warmth and kindness, her strength and energy to get well until she could no more.  She worked hard at life right up to the end.  She made a difference in the lives of many.

Good night Stacey!  We love you!  Sweet dreams and stay warm. Drive safe.  We will see you again one day.
