Teenie Fosty

With great sadness and immense loss, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Teenie Fosty.  With family by her side, Teenie passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at the age of 88, at the Seven Oaks Hospital due to influenza and pneumonia.  She will be sadly missed by her daughter Barbara (Sandy) Bowser, son William (Cindy), daughter Pam (Bill) Hargreaves, daughter Roberta (Miles) Mitchell, along with grandchildren Kelly, Tim, Sherri, Kevin, Brendan, Jolene, Jesse, Ryan, Sahla and Danielle, and numerous great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband John and sons Larry and Murray.

Teenie was born on June 26, 1926 in Poland. In 1939, Teenie came to Canada with her mother and siblings to live on a homestead in Red Deer, MB that her father had established ten years previous to their arrival.  Teenie and John Fosty were married in June 1943.  They established a homestead in the Overwater area and this is where they raised and lovingly nurtured their six children.  As pioneer farmers, they worked tirelessly, cleared the land and establish their mixed grain and cattle farm.  Mom and Dad contributed their energies to develop a strong community, they were active in church, “building bees”, and helping in the gathering of the harvest.   Mom was the heart of the family in caring, nurturing and guiding us through our lives.  Mom’s heart and soul was with her family, her husband, her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren whom she loved so very deeply and dearly.  Mom’s love, gentleness and compassion is what defined her.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to nurses, care and support staff, and doctor at the Golden Links Lodge for their kind and compassionate care.

Please join us in remembering and celebrating the life our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Sobering Funeral Chapel in Beausejour, Manitoba.  In keeping with Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  Interment will follow at the Holy Ghost Cemetery.
