1947 ~ 2013
THE REVEREND JAMES GARNETT WOLF peacefully passed on Sunday, July 14, 2013. Born August 26, 1947 in Mexico City to Caroline Mariah Garnett Wolf & Edward William (Peter) Wolf and grew up in Dallas, Texas. He attended University of Kansas and was a draft age immigrant to Canada with his wife, Jacquelyn and son Jared. He graduated from Simon Fraser University, attended seminary at Vancouver School of Theology and was ordained an Anglican Priest in the Diocese of New Westminster. He recently took his vows as a Franciscan Monk.
He is survived by his son, Jared (Lynn), daughter Meghan, Stepchildren Jodi (Cam) McGill, Kevin (Allison) Side, Grandchildren Brittany, Bryan Bergdhal, Jessie, Samantha Rudderham, Christian, Gavin, Kaitlyn & Joshua Ludlow-Wolf, Keefe, Liadan & Tynan McGill, Atticus Side; Great Grandchildren, Drayden Sampson, Avery Flett-Wolf, Sisters Ann Miller, Margaret & Brother John, Nephews Frank (Melinda) Miller, Christopher Barnes, Dakota, Nieces Alicia, Kya, Ayah & Great Nieces, Nephews & Cousins.
He was predeceased by his Wife & Soulmate Joan, Daughter, Patricia Angela and his parents.
Jim lived the teachings of Jesus and was unshakable in his generosity and commitment to Justice, Healing and Peace. His Work included but was not limited to Proyecto Adalante, Catholic Worker House, Acorn Gardens at Guadalupe Hacienda in Anola, Refugee Ministry at Hospitality House, Salvation Army, Seniors Bus Ministry with the Canterbury Bell, Teens Encounter Christ, Art teacher at St. Aidan’s School, Cursillo.
He served as Curate at St. Johns Anglican Church, North Vancouver and ST Paul’s Fort Gary, as Rector at Christ Church Winnipeg, Saint James Beausejour and Saint Mary of Guadalupe, in Anola. He liked to play with puppets and was also known to wear a frog costume and play the guitar.
Service of Light will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21 at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour, MB. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 22 at St. George’s Anglican Church, 168 Wilton Street, Winnipeg, MB.
