It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother.  Vera Doyle passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the age of 87.

Vera will be lovingly remembered by her partner Bill, daughters Janice (Rob), Charlene, Tracy, Teenie (Phyllis); grandchildren Colleen, Cheryl, Corey, Chris, Ryan, Andy, Kyle and Jeff; great grandchildren Trenton, Tyrell, Brenan, Teagan and Migizi. She is also survived by sister Audrey, Brother-in-law Gerry Little, Sister-in-law Bridget Thomas; extended family members, Tammy and Dylan, Talia and family; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her mother Mary and father Alex; brothers Edgar, Jim, Kenny, Albert, Freddy, Roddy and Franklin; sisters Martha, Jane, Olga and Minnie; ex-husband Philip and son Tim.

Mom was a loving, nurturing mother and homemaker who later worked as a home care attendant until she retired in 2002. Mom returned to her childhood home in Manigotagan where she reconnected with her family, church and community. In her retirement she worked as an Elder at Wanipigow School on the Hollow Water Reserve. 

Mom loved her family, dancing, bingo, trips to the casino, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her home in Manigotagan was always open to everyone who wanted to stop by for visits. Mom hosted many family celebrations over the years and thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. She always enjoyed going on road trips when the opportunity arose, with family and friends.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff on the B1 unit at Middlechurch Home for their care and compassion given to mom.

As per mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
